I tweeted about RP titlers and had 11 people favourite my post, so I figured that's support enough to post it here.

Maybe it's time for guidelines for people on using RP titlers in CD. We've got a few current examples where people are writing 6 or 7 lines of text in their titler, which hovers over their head non-stop, and blocks the view of characters and surrounding, messing up the visual immersion.

My opinion - the only text worth showing in an RP titler is something that anyone RPing with your character would clearly notice IC but may be not easily seen or noticed OOC. Stuff like injuries that are not clearly visible (large cut on arm, blood running down neck etc). Smells are fine - smells of urine, marijuana etc - this sort of stuff HELPS anyone RPing with you as these are things other characters would notice instantly IC.

I really think everything else can and should be saved for a profile.
Age? leave it in the profile - unless you are a youth character, then it's useful.
Mood? RP it!
Family background - mental state - RP aims - species - save it for a profile.
Sexual preference? RP it!

Just seems to be so much clutter that can be saved for profiles rather than blocking everyone's view.
