Well, I never expected this. I was recently hired on to the City of Hathian District Attorney's office. I was very excited at the prospect of working in the city to help make it a safer place for all. It was strange being hired with an email and no formal interview, but I was given an ID card, and made up some business cards to pass out.

Immediately I started making my rounds, introducing myself to the police officers to build a bit of trust and a professional relationship. I must admit, things have not gone as I hoped. The officers seem universally suspicious if not outright hostile. One Irish officer made some pretty crude comments towards me. I considered reporting him, but slapping a discrimination charge on a sworn officer on my first day of the job, would probably not work in my benifit.

If things weren't bad enough, and not going into details, I have found myself blackmailed by a streetwalker. As things work out, the more I try to get out of this blackmail, the further I slide down into a mess. My main concern is serving the people of Hathian, so I am going to try to handle this myself. Six hundred dollars a week is very steep especially trying to pay off the heavy burden of student loans. I have been shopping around for an apartment, and I'm afraid of what I'm going to be able to afford. I certainly hope I find something half way decent, but I fear I may end up in the trailer park. God forbid.

What I want most right now is to do a line of coke. It's been four days now, and I'm really on edge. I can't risk buying it openly, and the prostitute would be my best connection, however, I'm not going to give her more ammunition to use against me.

I do have a lovely young lady I have met, a real go-getter, into social justice. I have been speaking with her at length. Talking about how to effect change from the inside. Working with in the system to change the system. I think I have earned her respect. Hopefully I can convince her to work with me for the city, it might be a tough sell. I had considered hiring her on my own as a personal assistant, but cash is tight right now with the blackmail and all. Perhaps though, I could send her out to score a little bit of that precious white powder. I have to get to know her better though. Make sure she's on the downlow.
