I know everyone is always talking about being realistic in roleplay and what not. Well, I was speaking to a friend the other night who wanted to applt to HGH as a nurse but decided against it when I told her about the dresscode. Yes I understand a dresscode is there to help people know who are the doctors and who aren't but in my honest opinion, having people dressed in a certain color to identify them is a lot like tag reading.
Sure, I understand that in real life, doctors and nurses in surgery have to wear a certain outfit (white or green scrubs) but it makes no sense for our CD medical staff to all look like cookie cutter people (all the same).
I know there are a lot of places in SL that provide excellent outfits for rp. I have no problems with the attire for the doctors or interns but why can't the nurses wear printed scrubs (themed scrubs)? In real life you don't go to a hospital and see everyone wearing the same scrubs, unless possibly you're at a mental hospital, which I think they are all white. I think we'd get a better response to nurses if they had a bit of variety to thier uniform, and non medical staff (receptionists, janitors, ect) wearing thier civvies will not be scolded for thier attire as long as they are dressed professional.
No I;m not saying people come in in civvies. Uniformity is essensual I understand
