HGH-METRO D8 and DOCH AFFILIATION AGREEMENT
A Hospital generated community service at the Department of Corrections Hathian facility in Devil's Pocket

This program is a collaboration between the penal and municipal medical services. Under the mandate of the Louisiana Penal Code and in compliance with inmates bill of rights.
Under this agreement the hospital engage itself to provide Medical and Psychiatric Services by consultation. Accredited physicians and Psychiatrists will be able to attend to the inmates medical or psychological needs on a regular basis. The agreement provides for assigned interns to participate in the program under supervision of a HGH-Metro D8 Senior physician. The overall medical supervision of the program with rest under the jurisdiction of the Hospital Administration office and its Chiefs of Staff.
The DOCH administration will be responsible for the selection of the patients to be seen on site and for the security of the medical personal during their presence in their facility.
Under this agreement , only HGH-METRO D8 personal will be authorized to provide theses services. All Medical/Psychiatric staff will be subjected to the rules and regulations in place at the correctional facility.

Protocols for inmate Referral:
1. call for regular visits.
Upon the commitment of a prisoner to the jail , an initial medical/spych screening will be offered to determine any immediate needs, presence of existing condition such as HIV or drug addiction.
Prison's authorities will determine later on when an inmate can request a sick call and be seen by a doctor

2. Emergency Interventions: Will be provided through the municipal pager system at the request of the DOCH staff.

3. Rules for inmate transfer to an acute medical or psychiatric setting

4. Rules for surgical alteration of mental capacities of convicted criminal y insane inmates.
