As many of you know, former “Chiefs of Staff” of HGH, Lance Amat and Jasmine Slade have stepped down after long and very successful joint leadership roles. It’s regrettable that they will no longer be a part of the hospital, but everyone needs a break and the community thanks them for all the time and long hours they put into HGH – their dedication has not been overlooked and there will always be a place for them at HGH.
That being said, this is a perfect time to try out a new way of overseeing HGH, a way that should flow efficiently with the new system coming into play.
Instead of one or two leads, HGH will now have a Board of Directors. A board of leaders that will serve as an advisory committee to others in the hospital and guide the RP around the few rules that govern the hospital.
The Board will consist of three doctors (if we have that many interested) and one ‘head nurse’ (again if applicable). The idea is to spread out the workload and burden and to have any major issues be documented and discussed in an effective and productive manner.
Drama, as always, will not be tolerated. Issues between and with board members should be brought to sim admins. Here are some duties of the Board and guidelines that I would like to make clear:
DUTIES:

-Set examples, advise newcomers.
- - Members of the board are the go to people for new staff to learn and ask questions from. There are so many different ways to go about hospital RP, so many that aren’t sure how technical or lax things are. It will be your job to encourage players to RP what is –fun- and realism will only be used to enhance the fun of the RP, not hinder it.
- Make sure the basic rules and guidelines are followed. HGH is not a place about hardfast rules due to the nature of the RP that goes on there. Some of the big rules, though should be known for all as the new system roles out.
-HGH doctors are NOT the only doctors on sim. Players/HGH may have private practices, etc… and if permission is ICly RPed out can even assist those at HGH, but those not a part of the HGH group may NOT act as staff at HGH. As an HGH doctor's presence at HGH lessens, their tenure at HGH will end.
- -Within the next week rosters that will record the amount of charts and average hours at the hospital will be released. There will be no minimum amounts required , but those who are not RPing at the hospital will be ICly & OOCly warned about possible termination. (This keeps the database from having to fetch irrelevant information and thus being less efficient)
-Organize events, meetings, create plots and storylines
- -This does not need to be a constant thing, but the board should make sure there is a backstory going on that can be RPed out from time to time within the hospital, whether it’s something that is connected to a sim plot or just faculty events. ‘Dead’ is not a word HGH should be described as.
Once the Board is made new guidelines and criteria of how to move up the ranks in the faculty will be sent out along with any other minor regulations that will be needed.
