Cassie Littlebear was found only days after the storm hit Hathian wondering around and living in abandoned buildings. At the time Cassie had no recollection of her life before she was found and could not recall if she had parents or who her parents were. Cassie is deaf; but does read lips, knows sign language and often uses a pen and paper to communicate. While initially the child's last name was unknown, Officer Gavilan was able to find out that her last name is Littlebear and that her father is Eric Littlebear. Cassie is currently residing at the Hathian Kids Shelter and is in good physical condition. She seems to be well mentally with very little psychological trauma considering her ordeal. It is not clear if Cassie is socializing with others in her peer group; but she has befriended the local woman (Charil Darwin) who found her after the storm.
Social Worker Latisha Williams will perform the following action items:
1. Place a photo in the Hathian Observor in hopes that her parents will see her and come forward.
2. Work with the police department to locate Eric Littlebear.
3. Temporarily place Cassie in a foster home.
