Trying to defend a suspect is a trial of frustration.
First, officers violate suspects rights in front of the defence attorney and when the attorney objects, they just put harsher fines/punishments upon the suspect. If they don't like the attorney, they attempt to put a greater bail upon them, when in actuality bail is set by a judge not by police or ADA's. When this is brought up in OOC IM's the RP is suddenly broken off.
Secondly, what about rape of a suspect while they are in custody? It happens, and the police, are they above the law because there is no RP accountability for thier actions?
How is someone supposed to defend someone, when the officers continually stomp on the suspects rights? In front of the defense attorney who when gives an objection, only stomp on the suspects rights even more? Truly there is no accountability, and I find that it boarders on Meta gaming, because they know that there is nothing that will happen to them.
I don't want to get into a specific situation, but I am thinking of one, and if any involved parties want to IM me in game or through forums, please do. Likewise for mods.
