This post is the first of a few to come as there will be some changes to the CS Department. New hires to the Department please take note of these avenues that are open to you, for those already in CS, this short write-up can hopefully assist in refreshing the interests of your RP. Those outside of CS can freely use this guide in seeking out who to RP, or who they will need for particular situations.
Civil Services Lead/CS District Attorney – This contact is primarily for within CS. However, those not in CS may contact CS Lead about matters such as complaints, abuse of power, suggestions, unfair investigation on the part of CS, known evident tampering, etc. Please note that ALL information must be valid from IC.
Lawyer - Make yourself aware of what you can do while in jail, or in otherwise trouble. Please note that there is a directory in the jail by the phone, and the CS numbers are listed there. Visiting the CS office to speak with a Lawyer about any relevant issue is also advisable.
Therapist – After staying a minimum of 24 hours in jail, a therapist can be contacted from the CS department where you can be admitted to the Criminal Psych Ward (minimum 1 week RL stay). Advantages to this are that whereas RP in jail is closed, and only allows you RP with only the police, the Psych Ward allows more open RP while in a situation of detainment. Please note the psych ward is for long term RP.
Correctional Officer – If you are out on bail, and you have violated your probation in any way, you should contact a CS correctional officer. Correctional officers also have the ability to oversee community service, or even act as guard in jail or wards.
Social Worker – This CS official should be contacted where children are concerned. Adoptions, custody cases, threats and or assessments to child welfare. Social workers are also responsible for the scheduling of follow-ups to adoptions/child custody cases. Please note - Social Workers can also take children away from foster parents/guardians at their discretion if they find living arrangements unacceptable.
Judge – This role is a very powerful role, and is only granted by the Lead, or a manager of CS. Judges are allowed to make final rulings on decisions. If a decision is made under a legal proceeding, with sufficient evidence (or a bribe), the judge can overturn the decision. Judges can extend or shorten jail/detainment time (this is NOT to conflict with the minimum time frames already in place 24 hours minimum jail, 1 week minimum Psych Ward). Judges are responsible for the running of trials that take place, and making sure to keep legal documents on hand (i.e. subpoenas). Be creative.
With regard to CS employees. The base layouts for the roles are just that, base. It is to give a start as to where your Role-play can begin. For all cases that a CS agent is involved in, please NC your case, and post to the CS website forum, under the Civil Services [CS] group page. This allows for others in CS to keep track of what is being worked on and if there can be additional involvement by others. Please do not post the entire thread! Highlights of the case are satisfactory.
Elected Officials – Although this role is for members voted into office, it affects CS and then “society” at large. Work at making a change in Hathian, or being a complete bum, there will be another election soon enough. So kiss baby’s, or steal their lollipops (totally not a sexual reference that’s just nasty).
Department of the CS.
The CS Department and its RP is for FUN! Please keep that in mind. Please make sure cases handled are NC’d at the very least. Details are important. IF you do not NC, please play to the part that you have discrepancies in your case, and we will all poke holes in your case, which is just as much fun if you decide to do so, because you do not remember. The NC for CS serves as your recorder, camcorder, notepad, and any such device for reference.
Many aspects of CS require individual creativity and thought, please do not be afraid to do so. There are good, and bad CS officials. There is no hard and fast rule as to whether you decide to be good, bad, corrupt, absent minded, or lazy as long as your role-play is realistic (i.e. You cannot read peoples minds).
