Proposition for all you psych students: Hands-on experience!
I'd like to get an official announcement in the Observer, but for now here's the general idea ...
Hathian's full of folks who are a little less than stable, right? Columtreal needs some good publicity, and a way to make it look like the students are actually learning a thing or two. Funding is typically an issue for everyone involved --if you're not broke as hell and selling yourself to make ends meet, you're probably like me and looking for a way to expand your personal net worth 😉
Why don't we offer no-cost therapy sessions for those good, upstanding citizens who have not already found treatment at the hospital or in a jail cell? (Or those who are in between such lovely establishments, out on the streets with nothing to do but make trouble.) These sessions would also serve as labs for psychology students, who will be invited by the professor to at first observe, then (depending upon proficiency they display) participate, eventually leading the session with the good doctor attending and ensuring that all goes smoothly for student and patient alike.
This layout will allow for several important factors within RP:
- Bring traffic to campus
- Allow more CD-centric players the chance to explore CU if they wish
- Grant students the class time they deserve*
- Establish minor storylines through the progression of sessions
- omg actually have students graded for once 😯
- And the chance for a good scandal or two along the way (think taped sessions, paperwork, client/therapist relations ... the possibilities are many and varied)
* If any of you would like to work in small groups, rather than with me and the client alone, I'm sure we can arrange that as well. I could even assign "lab partners," so that you can get your rivalry, romance, or bitchiness on accordingly
