Good evening folks, just a brief announcement about staff additions. Or one addition in specific since we’re between semesters. Dr. Nagatomi Wani (OOC: Brannen Fitzgerald) has been brought on to fill a vacancy in the Kinesiology department at good old CU.
Now, two offerings to start with and a potential third depending on whether there’s any interest.
Offering one: KIN101 – Personal Fitness
In this class we will be going over the basics of nutrition and exercise, both in classroom and (mostly) in the gym and on the field. The class will cover basic facts and theories about nutritional health, the basics of safe exercise, and introduce students to a variety of physical activities. Students will be expected to keep accurate journals of their diet and exercise during the class session with the final grade dependant on physiological changes compared to the beginning of the session.
Offering two: KIN112 – Physical Conditioning
A class for the athletes and would be athletes, we’ll focus on flexibility and endurance as well as power over brute strength. Highly recommended for those trying out for teams next fall.
As for the third offering: would there be any interest in a women’s self defense course on campus? I’m willing to teach if there’s interest.
For future consideration are a variety of sports classes, dance classes, human movement, etc. Let me know what you’re interested in.
Oh, and what times work for people? I’m EST and mostly evenings and weekends.
