It's time for a new season of CU LOOTERS! FOOTBALL and some new RP ideas for the team:. This post needs feedback from anyone in the Crack Den community who would like to comment. CU Students and Looters! Football players are especially encouraged to comment. These plans are not set in stone, this is what I think might be fun, moving forward. I look forward to some honest input from other players. Players who are interested in joining the team should also respond!
WE ARE IN NEED OF A NEW FOOTBALL COACH. CU Dean, Jack Inkpen, will begin an IC search for a new coach very soon. However, if you are reading this and interested in the role, just IM me in-world ( Jacking Inkpen ).
The position of assistant coach is currently filled by Roxanne Evans (Star Attis).
The previous coach, Joshua Andrew-Parker (Bubbs Zenovka), was a very well-liked character and person OOC too. He put a lot of time and effort into the Looters! team, including making video simulations of games. Coach Josh left SL for personal reasons, though I hope we can continue to honor his work by using some of these videos in the upcoming season events, such as future 'after game parties'. He made a YOUTUBE channel, and here is the link with about a dozen videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuhC1bahS0Q2K48cHpJioJw
Here is one awesome example, a 3-minute highlight video: "CU Looters Vs. Kentucky GAME HIGHLIGHTS": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=932Xy-Td9f4
These ideas presented here have been partially adapted from a previous plan in the forums, presented by Jason Keaton (Sayyid Umarov): http://thecrackden.com/groups/columtreal-university/forum/topic/columtreal-football-off-season-starts-recruiting/ .
Jason is the IC Football Captain and thank you very much for this template. Some of the other ideas presented here were discussed among an IC Dean, the IC assistant coach, and two IC Looters! football players, though part of the discussion was held OOC.
( Here, I give simple explanations of the team positions for people who are not very familiar with American football. )
Looters! OFFENSE (Up to 7 players):
1 Quarterback: Behind the Center. Passes the ball to the running back or throws it to a receiver or runs it himself.
1 Kicker: Kicks the football!
1 Center: On the line of scrimmage. Snaps the ball to the quarterback and then blocks.
1 Tight End: On the line of scrimmage. Blocks or can take a short pass.
1 Half Back: Behind the quarterback. (Running Back) – Runs with the ball after quarterback passes it to him.
2 Wide Receivers: On the line of scrimmage. Runs out to catch long passes from the quarterback.
Looters! DEFENSE (Up to 7 players):
1 Defensive Tackle: On the line of scrimmage. Tackles/blocks the other team’s offense!
2 Defensive Ends: On the line of scrimmage. Tackles/blocks the other team’s offense!
2 Corner Backs: (can be) On the line of scrimmage. Blocks the wide receivers.
1 Line Backer: Behind the defensive line. Usually lines up opposite the other team’s Tight End. Tackles/blocks the other team’s offense!
1 Free Safety: Behind the defensive line. Is free to go wherever. Tackles/blocks the other team’s offense!
POSITIONS FILLED/AVAILABLE: Note on recruiting hierarchy: In the case where there are 2 positions available, the second will be filled only after all the other positions on the team are filled.
OFFENSE (Up to 7 players):
1 Quarterback: The Quarterback position is already filled by Football Team Captain, Jason Keaton (Sayyid Umarov).
1 Kicker: Seth Vond (Mason Halsey)
1 Center:
1 Tight End:
1 Half Back: Michiaki Yamaguchi (Takahiro Muhindra)
2 Wide Receivers: Leon Acosta (AliceIsTheEvil Resident)
DEFENSE (Up to players):
1 Defensive Tackle: Nick O'Connell (NickolasK Resident)
2 Defensive Ends:
2 Corner Backs:
1 Line Backer: Garrett Zero (Garrett Latzo)
1 Free Safety: Lucifer 'Lou' Millet (Radioactiveboy Resident)
Seasons and Ranking:
* There will be two (2) football seasons per year – one for each semester.
* Each season will start with recruiting to fill open positions, and an opportunity for two players to rank up to ‘Junior Captain’ on the team. Jason Keaton is Captain of the team.
* The duties of the Junior Captain will include hosting at least one Looters! Event per week during the season. Other rights and responsibilities can be worked out through IC role-play.
* There will be (at least) 4 IC games to be played against an NPC opponent team, each season. Ideally, there will be 2 games in April and 2 games in May of the spring semester. Then, 2 games in October and 2 games in November of the fall semester.
* There will be a variety of team-building exercises and events which include (but are not limited to):
* Boxing or wrestling together
* Intense weight training
* Martial arts
* Weapons practice
* Getting into fights (can bring around NPC opponent team players for this).
* Beating someone up (NERDS!)
* Hosting ‘kegger’ parties
* Hosting ‘after game’ parties
* More ideas...?
Ranking up to Junior Captain and Football Scholarships:
* FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIPS: (Note: I have already gotten permission OOC from the CU GM, Lance Lantash, to implement some sort of scholarship program in order to recruit new IC football players to CU. The exact details of the program can still be ironed out.) CU Students who wish to participate in the financial aid program, rather than pay tuition, must work 20 hours in one week at a campus job in order to earn that financial aid. We propose that a football scholarship should also be earned with 20 hours of dedicated RP, but that it should not have to be done in one week, rather one month. This would mean spreading out the commitment, and doing 5 hours per week of Looters Football related RP events, for 4 weeks in a row. Then, a CU Freshman tag will be awarded to the player by CU Admin after completion. In cases where there is not actually 5 hours of Looters! events scheduled in the week, other CU events can count.
* JUNIOR CAPTAIN POSITIONS: Players who wish to try out for the 2 Junior Captain positions at the beginning of each semester/season will have the opportunity during the first month of that season. The minimum requirement will be 10 hours of hosting events during that first month of the season. If more than two players accomplish this, then the two that have spent the most time directly related Looters Football RP during that first month will be awarded the positions. The duties of the Junior Captain will include hosting at least one Looters! Event per week during the season. Other rights and responsibilities can be worked out through IC role-play.
* ASSISTANT COACH: The role of the assistant-coach is also to host at least one Looters! Event per week, and to help with the planning and organizing of other events for the team. Other rights and responsibilities can be worked out through IC role-play.
* FOOTBALL COACH: The role of the coach includes, but is not limited to: Working with the assistant coach, captain, and junior captains to plan the Looters! games and events. Hosting at least 2 Looters! Events per week during the season. Being an IC mentor / authority / disciplinary figure for the team players (something like that). Other rights and responsibilities can be worked out through IC role-play.
This outline tries to commit the coaches and captains to hosting at least 5 Looters! events per week in total, whether they are parties, fights, weight training sessions, etc… The goal is to have a variety of times and types of RP throughout the season so players with varying schedules can remain consistently connected to the team and its RP. Looking forward to comments!
