Introducing the newest course offering in our Athletics Department, a cross over class with the Social Sciences Department!  Our very own Professor Gabriella Zabalza will be teaching this class, bringing with her extensive experience in both the practice and theory behind dance and its culture.  It will be an ongoing course, with each class introducing new material and building upon earlier lessons, so come to all of them to get as much as you can out of it!  It will introduce all forms of dance, from traditional, contemporary, even spiritual and religious dances.  Both technique and cultural significance will be explored.
This first class in the series will meet in the gymnasium and cover the basics of the physical aspect of dance.  Instruction on how to properly stretch to avoid injury, exercises to strengthen muscles, and common patterns to dance will be explore to form a solid foundation for the rest of the course.  As this will be an physical active class, students are recommended to dress appropriately in comfortable athletic clothing and attire.
