NATO-EUCOM Cpt. Kajenje Navarathna, professor of Geopolitics and International Law in CU, gives an open lecture on the phenomenon of the foreign fighters: those who leave their countries and lifestyle to join far away wars.

Who are these men? Why do they make such drastic decisions? What can our governments do? Would they be legitimated to intervene? Is the phenomenon disciplined by international laws? Is it a recent issue or a social phenomenon with roots in the past?

The lecture is planned on Friday the 14th from 1pm to 3pm and it’s open to anyone willing to attend. CU students are obviously the most welcome.
