BACKGROUND: First and foremost, I intend to run the massage parlor on neutral grounds (i.e. sans gang affiliation). This will be a driving force for inclusion. My character, Jack, is protective over the people she cares about and the things that belong to her, which (in this case) would equate to her employees. Although joining a business’s group requires a simple click-and-go, I plan on reaching out to new members OOC to schedule IC interviews and/or meetings to begin building familiarity between our characters as well as each other as players and also to encourage these new members toward finding their niche within the parlor RP. At face value, the parlor will be run legitimately, its initial funds supported, in part, by what remaining alimony Jack acquired after her second divorce. Beneath the surface, however, lies something dirtier, more primal. Ideas include—but are not limited to—recorded sessions (video), voyeurism (e.g. peephole or in-person), blackmail, running or stashing drugs and collaborations with the TT and/or XXX Shop. Under my leadership, the parlor will exist as a den of iniquities, where things buried beneath the id are massaged—SWIDT?—toward salvation.
UNIQUE: I think that anytime a business gains new leadership, its operations are influenced by or otherwise reflect the character of its lead. My intentions are these: to bring the massage parlor in a new and fresh direction while instilling opportunities outside of what one might usually expect from a massage parlor, while still keeping to the Crack Den theme; to incorporate a duplicity to the parlor’s function, inviting interested players to keep to the more legitimate aspects of the business, the seedier facets exclusively or to combine their efforts between both sides. A little dirty. A little sexy.
EXPERIENCE:I have always considered myself a leader at heart. This is reflected in my personal life at work as well through my experience at various RP sims in SL. I have also served as a group/faction leader in Hyde Corner, Fallen, King's Landing and Blackwater Bay as well as a small few instances of serving as officer.
IDEAS:4. Between sending out blanket notices and personally IMing individual players, my plan is to reach out to group members for interviews, auditions and other meetings. I would also make sure to choose, when the time comes, a dependable assistant manager, as well as other promising staff, who I could trust to engage new staff. As far as engaging new players in general, I consider myself an outgoing player, unafraid of bumping into new (whether to me or to the sim, itself) folks. That said, while Jack isn’t always the friendliest soul, she is very interactive and is a people-watcher. She is also a flirt and is intrigued by members of all orientations. She’s been accused of corrupting a few denizens in the past, but—only the willing can be willed, right?
OTHER:The grand (re)opening would introduce interested attendees to the new business model as well as to get a feel for who might be interested in the more dubious qualities that the parlor has to offer, whether for prospective employees or potential affiliates. Ideas include complimentary foot and back massages, complimentary tea, vouchers or business cards to those who might be interested in exploring all that the parlor has to offer.
