No one is saying that you need to play an “evil” character. Innocents are always accepted around the town. The idea is that the town is painted in shades of greys instead black or white, good or evil.

For example, I would not consider my character to be an “evil” person. However she has done many a sketchy thing when it was called for, when it…[Read more]

Judging is sadly a facet of the human condition. None of us are innocent of judging another person and/or a persons choices. And I bet if I put money down on everyone in this thread have at some point judged another player and their ‘realism’ in roleplay, I could retire early.

Recent forum posts alone are proof of the idea that /none/ of us are…[Read more]

This is where it starts to become a gray area of what you’re willing to RP more so than someone hiding behind a limit, to be honest. And there’s nothing wrong with that. I fully agree that if a person continues to taunt and ridicule or such ICly but then refuses to take any hits in reaction, or tries to control the reaction, it can become…[Read more]

That’s what I meant. If they push the idea and force it to be a killing shot so that you CAN’T take it without breaking a limit, THAT is hiding behind a death limit.

I understand what you’re saying and nothing I’m saying is directed at you directly. Its a general statement because you are not the first person to have this reaction to this…[Read more]

I am not going back and forth, I’m saying to read the scene and the reaction and to report it if it is a blanat disregard of the rules. To not view a scene through a one demensional idea and assume that that is the way it should happen. People should react to a gun in their face of course, but they shouldn’t have to react the way /you/…[Read more]

It seems to me far too many people are equating gun use with death. Guns=/=Death Limit Breech. The very idea that if a gun comes into play it’s to kill someone is a huge problem in and of its self. I am certainly /not/ against gun use in a scene or in role play if it adds to the scene and to the story. If it creates rather then halts and detracts.…[Read more]

I liked the topic here, a good discussion of a common issue and the ways to see it from both sides and I’d rather hate to see it become an issue of calling out a specific person (or persons) for their behavior. We should all be capable of getting a point or an idea across with out naming names. Doing something like that will cause what was a good…[Read more]

This is a pretty good case of people using a limit to react like the tough guy.  But again, it leads to the idea that people need to understand that there is also a point where they might push too far. That they will go to extremes to force a reaction from another character. There is just as much fault on both sides in a lot of cases.

    If a…[Read more]

Honestly, being a cop in Cd is hard, and I think first and foremost people need to respect that before they start levying insults. There is a lot of OOC that comes with the job, such as all the paper work you have to fill out and read. Having to adhere to a stricter set of rules. And being in a role that requires so much give and not really all…[Read more]

    1. Don’t make a second file, just add notes to the first file. You can do that by clicking the box on the desk in the station lobby. Those assigned to the case can add notes to exisiting files and reports. (( if you cannot, speak to a Lieutenant or Sergeant about helping you out there!)

ISO has no cameras, nor do the showers in the cell block…[Read more]

That makes a bit more sense. So it would be a place that caters to custom made outfits and could extend to many things. I actually rather like that idea. Totally something new and original!

And more specific, well…places attract RP by the crowd they attract. For example; a lot of criminals hang out at Lou’s so the RP there tends to get…[Read more]

To add to this, there are also a handful of lawyers on the sim, myself included, that actively RP this role. So make use of them for your criminal/jail RP as well. Especially those that wish to take the RP farther then the jail cell. There are many avenues to take in your jail RP. Use all that is at your disposal to its fullest! 😛

I agree with Blue, and kind of have to disagree with the “stuff can be NPCed” into.

I think that if you are going after a specific niche in the sim, and want a business, its probably better to have a concrete idea on what it actually is that is being sold there. Just being “a store” and telling people to NPC what’s there is likely to draw less…[Read more]
