even though i havent been round much lately, i still want to be sure that the school continues to go accordin to the plans that some of us had in mind for it. with that said, i just want to throw some things out there for everyone to keep in mind regarding rp at the schools.

1. if your character doesn't have a legitimate reason for bein at the school, then he/she shouldn't be there. if you are there to observe, wear an observer tag. think about rl - people don't randomly wander into a school.

2. if your character is asked to leave the premises, you really have no choice but to oblige or be escorted out by the cops. in planning for the school, we decided people with reason to be escorted off school grounds would best be dealt with by law enforcement officials, as they would be in rl. don't give the cops a hard time. superhero rp is bad enough for the cops to have to deal with in hathian. it belongs in an elementary school even less.

3. realistically, sometimes school will have to be cancelled. our teachers have real lives too and can't always make it into sl. if we can't find replacements, we'll come up with some excuse or other as to why the school is closed. don't just suck your teeth at these excuses when you see them. use them as opportunities for new rp instead. school closed for the day because of a teacher's strike? team up with your school buddies and trek to the park in d8 to hang out for the day... who knows what trouble you'll get in along the way?

4. don't push out kids that don't rp well. we're realizing that the school has got a lot of potential to bring new blood into the den and introduce a whole mess of SL kids to high-quality roleplay. more people in CD means more rp for all of us, and it means CD stays alive. be patient with new rp'ers. the school rules card includes a "guide to roleplaying" notecard. all students get this notecard, but new rp'ers might not bother to check out the embedded card. point it out and help them along the way.

if anyone can think of any recommendations to add to this, please feel free to bring them up. we want to do our best to make sure CME and JRP HS are successful. thanks.
