Okay real quick roleplay guidelines/tips for playing a medic. I was a Marine Corps Medic for 12 years, with combat experience in Kosovo, and Iraq. I served in Iraq with several reserve medics, and its these real life American paramedics that I draw from.

Attitude: Most medics have seen it all. They lost that lust to help people along time ago, and most get burnout after a few years. Medics are not nurses who have that motherly instinct to help, and nurture. Your meat to them, meat which has to be have its holes plugged, and kept breathing till it dumps you on the next level of care. Most medics either want to screw the nurses, OR hate the nurses for their nurture attitude. Most days you end up working overtime because your stuck in the emergency room waiting for a nurse to take your patient.

Technique: 1. You never enter an unsafe scene. The meat is not that important that you're going to die for it. The cops love self sacrafice, let them do it.
2. You always wear gloves unless she's hot.
3. Stop the obvious bleeding first, then worry about that airway, and breathing. No blood means you die, your brain will go on without O2 for awhile. Plug holes and tourniquets, its what you live for. If its spurting put a tourniquet on first, that limb can go without blood flow for several hours.
4. After you solve the obvious problems, then you do a detailed exam for anything you missed. Do vitals, get a full history of what happened etc.
5. Once you figure out your patient is a waste of a human being, feel free to harass, covertly torture, or order unneccessary procedures. A favorite of real life medics is to declare you combative, and paralyze your entire body.
6. Medics hate gang members or "street warriors". They occupy a huge amount of your time, they rarely comply with your treatment, and are always trying to convince you how tough they are, and how "you ain never seen nuthin like this mo fo!" Yeah, drop your knee on their face during your secondary exam.

Gear: Most of your roleplay gear will be bandages, splints and tourniquets. I can't see anyone playing a character with heart problems, so you'll never actually need a defib (the paddle shocker thing). Shocking someone in trauma rarely works, most of the time if they code its due to lack of blood volume, and shocking them won't fix that.
IV's are great roleplay emotes, most civillian medic starts IV's whether they need it or not as part of their secondary exam protocol. IV's can help with blood volume, but they don't actually replace blood, the hosital will still need to give blood to the trauma patients.
Trauma Shears, every medic has a pair to remove clothing like warm butter.

Drugs:
Morphine for pain, and to get the loudmouth to go to sleep.

"Succ's" to paralyze the patient in order to intubate (put a breathing tube down the throat to attach a bag to). Can also be used to paralyze the patients you don't like in general.

Narcan is for overdose patients. Thats all you really need to know.

Quickclot is a powder that is poured into a large wound to instantly clot the local blood. It gets very hot and will cause 2nd degree burns.

The above are some simple ones to help when you roleplay what your doing when you do medic stuff. Guidelines, not rules, its your second life roleplay.
