Yes it's another one of Val's RP ideas when bored. But stick with me, this might be a good one.
The idea is called Strangers and Freaks.
For those who play Grand Theft Auto, you know the concept. You are driving around the city, you got your main missions lined up, stuff to do ... but then you spot someone unusual on the corner of the street ... or hear someone call out ... or your curiosity is taken by something strange you see. Next thing you know, you are getting involved in some sort of random drama ...
So, to fit this notion into Crack Den RP:
The idea would be to create a group called Strangers and Freaks. All regular CD RPers welcome.
This collaboration group would try to come up with a staged RP scene that others can then get involved in.
Some examples might be:
- a group of priests and nuns gather outside Hathian theater to protest against explicit movies being shown, and end up confronting locals
- a knife fight to the death outside Lou's bar
- a band of little rascals go around throwing eggs at people
My thought would be that it would be STRONGLY encouraged to use alts for these scenes. This is not about promoting regular characters. This is about just creating some random RP opportunities. Setting the seed with some off-beat ideas and seeing who gets involved.
These RP scenes are generally intended to be one-off, one day only RPs with no lasting consequences. However, if certain RPs become popular, then maybe they can reprised or extended.
Scenes can be advertised (e.g. "The Strangers and Freaks have a special RP going down on Batterie Beach on Friday at 2pm SLT, come along and see what happens"), or they can be kept secret and just sprung on people. (Perhaps during quieter times on the sim.)
All regular permissions should apply. Check with HPD if cops are going to be seriously involved. Ask business owners OOC etc.
The aim of all this is to just have some fun with creating RPs throughout the CD sim that people can witness or get involved in.
I would propose being able to create a group to get this kicked off., maintaining the group and encourage people to do something on a weekly basis. I don't have to be involved in the RPs myself, just be the coordinator to help get RPs going and help liaise with people to get scenes going. Would be good to have another volunteer based in North America to help admin the group.
Sounds good? comments/questions/critiques/suggestions please!
