Just thought i might share some ideas about roleplaying with the CDPD, as obviously its something i do a fair bit.

For those of you who are criminals or even just roleplay with us, you should be scared of the CDPD or at least realise, that if you commit a crime, we can arrest you. Even if you dont, the CDPD isnt the most honest department in the world. So it might be an idea to ask yourself
does your character want to go to jail? Do they want their hard earned cash, drugs and weapons confiscated? Do they want to end up in a cell having their ass raped with a maglite? Because i think the answer for most of you, is going to be no.

I am not suggesting being a cop is an excuse to do whatever you like, you could in fact argue the opposite, that a criminal has that right. As there are actually a different set of rules for the CDPD regarding RP which are enforced and limit what we can do. If we got out our M4s and shotguns, went around hasseling you all everyday, we would be getting the complaints by the dozen. We are simply here to RP like everyone else, keeping in character/the role, but with respect and without bullying our way around. It simply would be nice to get the same in return from people.

Having said of that, regarding corruption, yes obviously the CDPD is corrupt. We take bribes, turn a blind eye and do all sort of other things for people, but you have to make it worth our while. As far as i know, the Rejects and Aces are only ones to ever offer a bribe to the police as an alternative to be arrested. Everyone else simply turns hostile, threatens and attacks us, or worse, simply ignores us. Which just ruins the scene for everyone and is just a waste of time.

That still doesnt mean we are on anyone's side either. We have shot Parnell and arrested him. While i have even arrested Keri and Bebe. Bribing us, or fucking us even, isnt always the answer and we enforce the law, while are characters that think and react on our own as well. If you annoy us IC and are uncooperative or hostile, money isnt going to change a thing. It would simply be nice if people just thought a little and remebered there are always alternatives and this is RP, the limit is only your creativity.

So to wrap it up, just thought i would bring it to everyone's attention, the CDPD is always a little strapped for cash and of course, open for business 24 hours a day....
