So a while back the husband and I decided to try out this game called project zomboid. Now, while I haven't quite redownloaded the newest update to this game i was enthralled simply because this game is not just a game. It is the game of how you die. So I wrote a story of my first experience with the game a while back and just random OOC musings so here it goes. Oh and to give a background when it first was put out you were trapped in this house as a guy... your wife is injured and you're taking care of her. So this is me portrayed as Billy. I think that's what his name was. So this is the story of how I died in journal form.

My poor wife, blood everywhere, what was I to do?

I shredded the sheets I found and wrapped her bleeding leg, and gave her the pain kills to lessen her misery.

I thought to myself. I'd make a great husband if I had to be in an apocalypse. Never mind that I am a woman behind the screen.

So I went to the shed, found all the nice tools available. Hammer? Why thank you. Nails? Even better! Boards? Now we're talking! I took all the supplies I found and managed my way back to the house, which woops, I entirely forgot I left open.

BAD Man, bad!

I walk inside, close the door behind me and hesitantly proceed into the rest of the house, searching for any stray zombies that might have managed to linger inside. To my relief there was none. So i proceed to barracade the doors, leaving me with only 1 board left.

I go upstairs to talk to my poor injured wife, and we promptly to go sleep hungry. Night passes, day comes and I wake up and head off in search of food.

I go to the front door, damnit, I had barracaded it! So here I am, using my trusty hammer to rip off the old boards. I'm going to have to board those back up later with the last remaining boards I have I think....

But i'm running out the door by the time I finish that thought. Next house.... hammer in hand I walk inside, remember to close the door behind me and start rummaging for something useful. Food possibly. I head to the kitchen.. and there's a zombie.. so I run out quickly. I slowly proceed back to the kitchen and.. no zombie.. the hell did it go?!! I'm thinking to myself. Oh well... back to rummaging for food.

I hear a groan in the open doorway and in steps a zombie.

I hear a scream. Oh wait wait.. that's me screaming behind the screen because it scared the sh*t out of me!

I hear laughing, but it's not in the game either, my husband is staring at me with amusement in his eyes as I freak out about the zombie heading toward poor Bob.

I'm screaming now going. "Oh my god, oh my god, how do I kill it!? It bit me!"

Well duh, turn to FACE the zombie and then click click click.

It eventually dies, and i'm injured with minor injuries, but i'm pretty unhappy that I couldn't even kill my first zombie without being scratched. I run back to Kate so distraught. Forget to board up the front door and head to the kitchen to get soup on!

Moments later I hear radio talk upstairs. So I go up, forgetting to turn off the stove. Kate mutters something about news and not hearing anything and then...

"Do you smell something burning?"

I immediately rush downstairs to see the kitchen on fire. I run upstairs, injured and in pain and try to carry the poor wife down to save us. No luck though as our front door failed us and we're surrounded by a horde of zombies.

So.. lesson learned?

Turn off the friggen stove! >.<
