High Life

By Masha Eilde

TYPE: Hathian Releaf

SLURL: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hathian/149/67/35

BACKGROUND: Parties Involved: Business Lead: Masha Eilde Co partners: Dimitri Rousseau [Joubert015 resident] Alexia Rousseau [Lydhia Shinn] Alcide Rousseau [Artemis035 resident] IDEA: The idea is a medical marijuana dispensary. The Hathian city council legalized medicinal marijuana last summer and there has yet to be a dispensary set up for the citizens of Hathian. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hathian/149/67/35 The location for this store is between the pawn shop and Lou's on Hathian Highway, a high traffic area and in reasonable distance from the HGH. It would fit within the city as an active and viable business which is also lucrative for those involved. The business is one which has already been suggested to several players ICly and so already has interest and promise of participation and activity from them and others as continued IC networking occurs. IC: Mercy is the front person and also the person who is presently growing, processing and preparing the medical grade marijuana. The dispensed form will be a menu of flowers, concentrates, tinctures, and medibles. Mercy and her partners are hoping to set up a place where people can treat ailments holistically and legally with medical marijuana and take the burden off HGH in terms of management of certain chronic diseases and difficult to manage symptoms. These include Chrohn's disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, asthma and arthritis. Prescriptions would also address symptoms that are related to chronic diseases (cancer, HIV/AIDs, Alzheimer's) and refractory to traditional treatments, including severe pain, cachexia (wasting syndrome), muscle spasms, and nausea. Medicinal marijuana will only be dispensed to those carrying a prescription card from an approved Hathian MD. CITY CONNECTIONS: Mercy will be soliciting MDs to work with the dispensary with assessing potential clients and writing the necessary prescriptions as well as issuing cards for approved patients. The MDs may be affiliated with the HGH or may have private practices. MDs who are reluctant to put their license at risk due to the lack of federal legalization could potentially be persuaded by bribery or blackmail. Gangs in town might develop an interest as the medicinal grade will be much higher than the black market is available to provide. Avenues of interaction may be non-violent (trade agreements) or violent (they attempt to rob the place or scare off customers). Citizens in town obviously will have direct access, either for legitimate medical needs, by conning an ethical approved MD, or by paying off an unethical approved MD. Or any mix therein 🙂 The city council will likely watch closely as will the HPD given the lack of federal legalization and their own awareness of what might occur with the deeply entrenched Hathian criminal element. They may also wish to benefit financially themselves. Safety Aspects/Security: Per the law, product will be kept entirely on the premises. There will be an area set aside for "taste testing" for those with prescription cards, allowing them to choose between forms of medicinal marijuana administration. Cameras will be in place. Storage will necessarily need to be secure with electronic keypad and a safe as well as in-person security staff. The product itself will be grown in a similarly secure area as well as off-site (location depending on prim allowance). Those involved are part of the staff and have vested interests in seeing the business succeed. This means they will be willing to keep the place protected and under watch. *We are requesting that, initially, gangs not to over target the business so that it can work successfully and be a feature in the city. That's not to say the business HAS to BE a success but that it can be allowed a chance to establish RP and for that to be able to thrive.

UNIQUE:

EXPERIENCE:I've long owned land in Devils Pocket and I run quite a few IC businesses there. Trey and Alex have convinced me to take the marijuana dispensary off my land and propose it in Hathian proper as a way to foster RP not just for our characters, but for a large slice of Hathian at large. I feel this is a great way to incorporate citizens, criminals, and civil services into one small location.
