TYPE: Official Business
SLURL: North Shore Highway, Hathian
BACKGROUND: I would keep it headed in the same direction that it's been going - it's a traditional greasy spoon, the type that you see in all small towns which makes it a perfect haunt for everyone from all walks of life (because who doesn't enjoy some burgers and shakes?). I'd love to be able to do some sort of youth outreach for it as kids over 15 can go there if they are workers - Alex could possibly help some troubled kids, give them a job to take some money home, put some sort of job on a resume for when they're older. I want to see about organizing a monthly event, some sort of discount the first Friday of the month, make it an official date night and offer a discount off of a special menu for two person meals. If I can figure out a way to run it, would love to have a trivia night at the diner every month or so, offering half-price starters and drinks for participants. As far as making new employees feel welcome, Alex would be around to assist them, teach them the ropes, and get them to help run some of the events. Alex is a fair employer, and she'd give people their second chance if it's needed (even criminals and otherwise)!
UNIQUE: The joy of the diner is in it's location - right near the police department and the red light district. It can be a central sort of draw for people, hookers and strippers at the end of long nights can come in for some kinda of refreshment before heading off for bed or another job, cops can come in during their patrol for some coffee and a bite of something deep fried and terrible for them. I also really want to make that push for trying to partner up with other businesses in town - like going to the Slab to get the meat for the diner.
EXPERIENCE: I've been running the Bleu Wag bistro for a while now, but have had a lot of struggles there simply due to the location of it - it may be possible that someone who is more dedicated to the campus may have better ideas for it and can push for better engagement. I have had some successful RPs there, including the speed dating event which people really and truly seemed to enjoy!
IDEAS: A lot of new people wander down there way, and everyone needs to eat eventually! And everyone needs a job, too. It's a great place for some newer folks to step into and they can find other citizens from cops to gang members to regular folks in there - it's a great way to find people to engage in RP with them. The service positions all across CD are some of the best ways to meet people because you do get that opportunity to roleplay with everyone.
OTHER: Discounted food - who doesn't a good deal especially when they're eating out? Alex would offer some specials for the first week of the business being open, including 30% off their next visit coupon to encourage folks to come back for another visit. It would mostly just be a bit of a cookout, weather depending, to try some of the new menu out. I would advertise for a grand re-opening cookout on the beach, as a sort of last hurrah of the summer season before it got too chilly, possibly with a DJ if I can get one (I know it all depends on RL and such!).
