"I think it's a lot cheaper than like, if I lived in New Orleans...and it's not too far from it, I'll probably be able to soak up all the same kinda' details." Lake drawled to her boyfriend on her cell as she sat back in the smoke scented taxi that was rolling along to Hathian. "And ya, I mean, it'll be wayyy easier to meet locals in a city this size, instead of N'orlins, y'know? No goddamn tourists like y'know, we have walkin' around in New York. Jesus, they can be soooo fucking annoying. And I don't wanna' be like that at ALL? Y'know? I just want to get a real feel for the---fuck!" She swore as the taxi ran over a pot hole and she was thrown to the side of the taxi. "Jason, I swear to God, all taxi drivers drive the exact same frikkin' way every goddamn place, it's not even rush hour." she murmured, narrowing her eyes at the sweaty black man driving the taxi, lowering her voice, cradling the cell between her head and shoulder, glancing around. "I know, I know...I'll be careful...I don't think they're gonna' be too, invasive you know? Of my privacy. I am like, starting to get recognized more and more these days but....y'know. Maybe some of them have never watched, Silver Linings, or y'know American Hustlers, The Hunger Game..." she drawled out languidly, winding a strand of her dark hair around a slender finger, relaxing back against the frayed, slightly soiled cab seat. She gazed out at the unfurling landscape, her hazel eyes carelessly moving from tree to house to dilapidated blocks, row after row of run down and ruined housing. "God, Jase, it's gonna' be like soooo cheap out here, I'm gonna' have sooo much to just, like blow it all on clothes....Pretty sure there's nice stores out here somewhere and you know how much I love thrift stores.. anyways if they don't." She said, pulling on the bright scarf draped loosely round her neck as she strained to see past a dumpster and a broken down looking car to run her eyes over a sullen looking figure standing out by the road, a male, tall, black, dressed in a tank top and jeans, scuffed up sneakers. He glowered at her as she held his gaze for a brief moment. Her curious and alert gaze shifted after a lingering moment, moving only when he flipped her off and grabbed at his crotch, making her raise her eyebrows for a second. "I know, I won't spend it all, God, Jason, do YOU know how much I got paid last time? Stop being so tight fisted." she added snappily to the voice on the other end, a slight sense of anxiety arising in her, not too much though for now. "This is just....like the ghetto area right, mister? There's nicer places outside of this, right? Right?" she asked the amused black taxi driver who just gave her one curt nod, a little flip of his hand. "Riiight....Ok, well, I'm going to like, get some experience out here...y'know, research, observe....My character is a junkie who falls in with a bad crowd and sleeps with a musician. I'll be good though, don't you worry."She laughed, an appealing melodious sound, turning her attention back to her boyfriend on the other end of the line, her vain gaze falling on her own reflection in the taxi window, able to make out her pretty and striking features even through the dirt and grime against the glass. "Alright sugar, I gotta go. That's right, you take care... Speak to you soon, love you, bye!" She ended the call, settling back with a dramatic and whimsical sigh. "Oh my God, I'm so gonna miss him! That was my boyfriend! He's back in New York." She informed the driver, as if he was interested, he wasn't, she could see him roll his eyes through the rear view mirror but he gave her a grunt in response. Her long elegant brows drew down in a slight frown, her soft, sensuous mouth curving down at the corners for a moment but she shrugged, staring outside at the sight of a police officer standing on a street corner, arguing with a ragged looking street kid. "Guess I'll get to know this place inside out.." she murmured to herself as she settled back, letting the taxi take her down some more pot holed roads, decrepit buildings lining the streets around her. (An up and coming rising star, the hot young 'newcomer' on the celebrity scene, Lake Larson will be recognizable to those in the city who like to watch movies and read magazines or use the internet/social media. Will she be welcomed, scared witless, broken down, end up hounded/haunted? Or all of these things and more? You decide!)
